Marketing advice
Most Scotland Excel contracts are awarded as framework agreements featuring at least three suppliers. To maximise the potential of the contract award, many suppliers undertake marketing campaigns throughout the duration of the contract.
However, before embarking on a campaign, suppliers should ensure that they understand the requirements and buying behaviour of each local authority. In some cases, a council may have undertaken a 'best value' analysis or 'mini- competition' to allow them to select a preferred supplier. In these cases, suppliers that have not been selected are unlikely to see any return if they undertake campaigns.
Suppliers should also be aware that there may be contractual or other implications arising from promotions that affect the pricing of an item, including short term discounts and two-for-one offers. If considering such a promotion, suppliers should contact the procurement team at Scotland Excel for advice.
Scotland Excel brand
Under certain circumstances, it may be possible to use the Scotland Excel logo and/or brand name within marketing materials. However, permission must be sought from the Scotland Excel marketing and communications team and all materials presented for approval before print or publication.
Scotland Excel's name must not be used in any press releases without express permission from our Director. Please contact the marketing and communications team for further information.
Mini-Catalogues
Scotland Excel publish an online catalogue of contracts, products and services. However, some suppliers also produce mini-catalogues of the products and services that they supply to a particular contract.
Suppliers may use Scotland Excel's brand name or logo on mini-catalogues as long as only products and services which are specified on the contract are included. Catalogues must be submitted for approval before publication.
