Scottish Government launch 'Developing Markets for Third Sector Providers' programme.
A consortium led by Ready for Business has won a £1.5 million contract to develop a programme which will raise awareness of the third sector among Scotland's procurement community.
Developing Markets for Third Sector Providers will inform buyers about the services provided by the third sector, encourage third sector involvement in design and delivery of services, promote the use of community benefit clauses in contracts, and contribute towards the achievement of the government's sustainable procurement goals.
This is the third programme that the Scottish Government has launched to support the third sector in recent months, and will complement the Just Enterprise programme and Enterprise Growth Fund by providing a conduit between third sector suppliers and public sector buyers.
Scotland Excel will work closely with consortium partners to develop and deliver plans to engage local authorities with the programme. Further details will published on this website in the near future.
Ready for Business are currently running an online survey aimed public sector procurement and commissioning professionals to inform the design of the programme and ensure it meets the needs of buyers.
Further information about the Scottish Government's third sector initatives is available on their website.
