Forth Valley Resource Efficiency Forum host free event to discuss sustainable procurement strategies.

The Forth Valley Resource Efficiency Forum (FVREF) is hosting a free event entitled 'Marketing Sustainability Credentials' as part of their 2011-12 event programme.

The event is aimed at companies interested in learning about environmental approaches that can help to grow their business. Delegates will have an opportunity to discuss topics such as the Scottish Government's Sustainable Procurement Strategy, the role of Corporate Social Responsibility and Certification to Standards.

The event will take place at The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum on Thursday 23 February, from 9.30am until 12.30pm. It is open to anyone who wishes to attend, and includes a buffet lunch and networking opportunities.

Speakers at the event include Irene McCulloch, Head of Professional Services at Scotland Excel. Irene will be discussing how Scotland Excel implements the Scottish Government's sustainable procurement strategy, and how this can provide opportunities for suppliers in an increasingly competitive economy.

Other speakers include Stephen Hudson from the British Standards Institute, Fraser Kelly from Social Enterprise Scotland. Alan Fowler from ASCEnt Scotland, and Russell Whyte from Stirling University.

Full details of the event programme are available to download, and anyone interested in booking a place should email Elene Dawkins.

The Forth Valley Resource Efficiency Forum is partnership between Falkirk Council, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Environment Protection Agency and Stirling Council, supported by environmental consultancy Wren & Bell.
