Boost for social enterprise in Scotland

New development and funding programmes launched for Scotland's third sector.

Two new programmes have been launched to help enterprising organisations in Scotland's third sector grow and operate more efficiently.

Just Enterprise will see Scotland's key social enterprise agencies working together to deliver a £3 million programme of business support and development services to social entrepreneurs and third sector organisations on behalf of the Scottish Government.

The Just Enterprise programme will provide advice in a number of business areas including procurement. As well as supporting third sector participation in tendering for public sector contracts, Just Enterprise will also work with public sector agencies to encourage and promote the use of Community Benefit Clauses where there is an opportunity to deliver wider social benefits.

The Scottish Government has also established a £4 million Enterprise Growth Fund to provide grants of between £25,000 and £200,000 to enterprising third sector organisations with the most sustainable and ambitious business plans. The fund is expected to be open for applications from late August.

Further information about Just Enterprise is available online or by calling 0141 425 2939.  For enquiries about the Enterprise Growth Fund, contact the Wise Group on 0141 303 3131.
