Scottish Procurement announces buyer events for the national postal services framework

Scottish Procurement is inviting public sector buyers to attend a launch event to learn more about the recently awarded national framework for postal services.

There two sessions of the event taking place in Glasgow and Edinburgh on the following dates:

Glasgow 29 March 2012,
10.00am - 3.00pm
Scottish Government,
Europa Building, G2 8LG
Edinburgh

30 March 2012,
10.00am - 3.00pm

Scottish Government,
Victoria Quay, EH6 6QQ

The event will be of interest to buyers, administrators and financial managers from across the public sector who are involved in the procurement of postal services for daily ad-hoc collection and delivery and/or larger scale planned mailings such as council tax notifications.

As well as providing an overview of the framework, there will be opportunity for organisations to raise any questions they may have in relation to the agreement.  The suppliers to the framework, TNT and Royal Mail, will also be available to answer questions on the day.

In particular, the event will provide organisations with the opportunity to find out about Hybrid Mail which allows users to develop their mail format and content on their desktop and then issue the soft letter to a mail production site for delivery. As well as environmental benefits, Hybrid Mail can reduce expenditure on stationery and optimise postal tariffs.

Anyone interested in attending the workshops should download an attendance form and return it to Lynn.McCann@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.  Questions about the framework or events can also be directed to Lynn at the above email or by calling 0141 242 5837.

Further information on the national postal services framework is available on the Scottish Government website, and Scotland Excel website members can download a buyer's guide with pricing from the members area.
