Scottish Government raises the profile of public-social partnerships with launch of new guide

A publication which provides guidance on forming public-social partnerships was launched on 8 July by the Minister for Local Government, Aileen Campbell, during a visit to community hub 'Out of the Blue' in Leith, Edinburgh.

The guidance builds on the experience of ten projects which piloted new ways to effectively link the public and third sectors.  These projects covered a range of areas including social care, youth, social justice services and recycling,  and were developed around the needs of people and communities.

The guidance will be of particular interest to community planning partnerships, public bodies, third sector suppliers and service user interest groups.  Further practical support in applying and using the guidance when reforming service programmes will be announced by the Scottish Government.

More information on public-social partnerships and a copy of the guide can be found on the Scottish Government website.
