Executive Sub-Committee meets
Councils updated on our ongoing Covid-19 response and contract delivery plan
Scotland Excel’s Executive Sub Committee convened remotely on Friday 29 May – the second time it has met during lockdown.
South of Scotland Enterprise and Crown Estate Scotland were welcomed as associate members and can now make use of an extensive portfolio of contracts.
The committee also received updates on several areas including our ongoing Covid-19 response, our remote and full-service operation, and our contract delivery plan.
Julie Welsh, Chief Executive of Scotland Excel, said: “The Executive Sub Committee is the backbone of our governance and it was great to have our elected members connect with us remotely. It’s crucial that despite the unprecedented challenges we face, we continue to deliver for Scotland’s councils.
“I was therefore pleased to update the committee on our remote, full-service operation and our Covid-19 response. This involves regular updates to councils regarding supplier stock levels for essential items and close working with suppliers to do all we can to ensure the goods and services to support essential public services, continue to be available to councils.”
Elected members were given detailed updates on how other key areas are being impacted by the pandemic, including food, construction, waste and social care.
They also heard about steps to implement the organisation’s contract delivery plan in the new operational year – with seven new frameworks set to be added to the current portfolio of 74 contracts by the end of March 2021.
