It’s a Win-Win for Scotland Excel!

Domestic Furniture and Furnishings (DFF) framework recognised with a Scottish Public Service Award.

Scotland Excel’s contract which helps Scottish councils provide furniture and furnishings to vulnerable people has scooped a second national award in as many months.

The Domestic Furniture and Furnishings (DFF) framework took the award in the Commercial Partnerships category at the prestigious Scottish Public Services Awards.  This success comes hot on the heels of the framework’s success at the GO Awards Scotland where it won an award for Sustainable Procurement.

Julie Welsh, Director of Scotland Excel, said: “Our Domestic Furniture and Furnishings framework is a ground breaking initiative that demonstrates the value that public procurement can deliver for Scotland’s communities.

“As well as supporting national policy aspirations on waste reduction through the reuse of quality furniture and white goods, its innovative approach has created opportunities for third sector and supported businesses to participate in a high value, national contract.

“I am delighted that the dedication and creativity of our staff has been recognised through these awards, and it will motivate us to do even more to deliver positive outcomes for people across Scotland through our procurement initiatives.”

The Scottish Public Service Awards ceremony took place at the Scottish Parliament on 4 December 2017.  The award was accepted by Hugh Carr, Scotland Excel’s Head of Strategic Procurement and Andrew Richmond, Strategic Procurement Manager.
