Overview
Training
Our training team are developing generic and bespoke training courses from “Introduction to Procurement” to more advanced courses in strategic procurement. We aim to ensure that all our employees are highly trained within their particular function and commodity area and we offer and encourage the uptake of the same opportunities externally.
Best Practice
Work with councils, professional bodies and other Centres of Expertise to develop and share best practice in procurement and deliver initiatives that will help in the drive towards the achievement “superior performance” as defined in McClelland report.
Scotland Excel operates a HelpLine service (0845 606 8726) and is dedicated to providing excellent customer care.
Procurement
We have dedicated teams who are experts in their commodity areas and in negotiating contracts. The teams are responsible for working with local authorities to understand their needs and establishing appropriate contracts to meet these needs and to maximise the potential benefits for all involved.
Advice and Support
We provide on-going support from our procurement teams as well as from our friendly helpline staff. The helpline is available during normal office hours and is charged as a local rate call.
